MUSCAT: Three Omani students are ramping up their preparations to represent the Sultanate of Oman at the prestigious Adobe Certified Professional World Championship in the United States, competing against top talent from around the globe.
The participants follow their qualification in the Omani Adobe Graphic Design Championship for the 2025–2026 season, which had widespread interest from students and youth across various educational governorates in the Sultanate of Oman.
The national competition recorded more than 850 registered contestants, with 514 qualifying for the initial rounds and 113 advancing to the advanced stages. This process eventually led to the selection of nine finalists for the ultimate round, before the final three winners were crowned to represent the Sultanate on the global tier.
During the national championship, competitors underwent several technical and artistic evaluation stages. They also executed creative graphic design projects, assessed by specialised judging panel based on rigorous technical criteria.
The training programme focused on developing the students' skills in using professional Adobe applications, most notably Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe InDesign. It also trained them to execute design projects that simulate the nature of global challenges, analyse project requirements, develop creative ideas, choose appropriate visual solutions, and complete their work within strict timeframes.
The programme provided the students with intensive practical training alongside continuous evaluation and follow-up sessions to track progress, provide feedback, and identify areas of strength and improvement.
These elements are highly crucial as the upcoming world championship challenge extends over eight hours, during which participants must execute a comprehensive, full-scale design project based on specific international criteria and standards.
The participation of the Omani students in this global tournament reflects the growing emphasis on discovering and nurturing national talent, while fostering a conducive environment for training, development, and competition. It also strengthens the Sultanate of Oman’s presence in specialised international arenas.
